Beauty in the Tragic Magic

Ha, what can I say. It's an older, wealthy town that loves to draw people in from all over the country! I'm sure Rachel has done very well, just as expected! Mini vacation was good, though I mostly just sat in my cousin's house. He was supposed to have a minor surgery the day I was there, hence why my aunt was going down in the first place. But it was nice to just hang out with him, he was like my best friend before he left and I miss him sometimes. Anyways, how are you doing? ~Silver

I’m good, really. I’ve been swamped with work. Being a med student isn’t exactly easy.

Is everything alright with your cousin?

I’m also sorry for replying so late, Silver. I’m surprised I’m online, at all.

That's awesome to hear about Rachel's show. I'm sure she's going to be excellent in it. And I'm sorry everything got crazy after your vacation, but at least it seemed like you two enjoyed yourselves while it lasted! I ended up taking a mini vacation (2 days) to Iowa to visit my cousin, so that was good. We also have another festival going on at the shop, so it's been crazy trying to get ready for the weekend. But so far one successful day! Just have to get through tomorrow... ~Silver

You have a lot of festivals, don’t you, Silver? That tiny town has a lot of events.

Rachel has been absolutely phenomenal and, so far, blown every single critic, viewer, and cast member, I suspect, away.

How was your mini vacation?

It's fine, I honestly didn't expect a response until sometime after you returned from your trip. I'm glad you ladies are enjoying yourselves out there! I'm currently a little bummed out. Found out today that I will not be traveling to Texas anytime soon. My brother still hasn't found an apartment yet, so he'll be staying with a friend for a month. By the time my parents take his furniture down there, I'll be back in school and will sadly not be going with... But how are you doing? ~Silver

I’m so sorry, Silver. After vacation my life took a bit of a turn for absolute crazy and ridiculous and now that I’m about to start up the fall semester again…well. The good news, though, is that Rachel’s show is steadily approaching, so I guess how I’m doing depends on the day since my amazingly talented girlfriend has a habit of going from amazingly excited to freaking out at the drop of a hat.

How is everything with you? How are you?

Ha, well then as long as I don't bother you too much, I'll continue on our little conversations! :) And if all goes as planned, I will make sure that I get some sort of free food out of it all. But this is all still speculation right now. I don't even know if my brother will want/need me to help him there. I think I would be there more for his emotional support since our parents would be coming along... I feel the same about Nebraska. I think every does... Can't wait to see pictures! ~Silver

Sorry it took me so long to get back to you, Silver. I find myself pretty happily distracted by my girlfriend and a very sunny beach.

Emotional support is necessary. That’s how siblings work, I’m pretty sure. They also work on free food, though, so don’t let him get away without paying him.

How are you, Silver?

Ah, it's no problem really. I figure you're busy and have more important things to do anyways than sit and wait for a response from me. Because unlike me, you actually have a productive and busy schedule. Yeah, if everything goes right in the next month, I'll be possibly helping my brother move out into an apartment out there for school. (Not that I'll be of much help, but... whatever.) He just needs to actually find a place first. Well, I'm hoping you two have a nice relaxing trip! ~Silver

Talking to you is much better than the majority of my ‘productive and busy’ schedule, trust me.

And, hey, helping’s helping! Make sure you get free food out of it (I love how you can tell I spend way too much with Jay just from that statement). Moving somewhere new is always exciting. Terrifying, but exciting.

Be sure to take pictures of Texas. Not gonna lie, sometimes I’m convinced it doesn’t really exist.

I’m joking, obviously. I mainly just feel that way about Nebraska.

I am, too! We’ll take tons of pictures, don’t worry. Keep you guys updated, I guess.

Well, I'm happy for you two. You guys seem like a good fit together. Vacation sounds fun. Heading to California right? I've never been there but I'm sure you two will have a wonderful time! I just found out that I might be taking a trip out to Texas before the school year starts up again. Not as exciting as California, but still a trip none the less. ~Silver

For some reason, tumblr just seriously doesn’t like notifying me when you message me back, Silver.

I don’t know, Texas sounds like a…what does Texas sound like?

A good ole’ Southern good time, that’s what Texas sounds like. I bet TX is pretty fun. If all else fails, have a really good time and everytime you sing All My Ex’s Live in Texas, you’ll have some fond memories.

At least the taxes are lower. Do you have any plans while you’re there?

And thanks for being happy for us. Especially since we’re both pretty happy, right now. Our work schedules are pretty crazy so a vacation just sounds…good. Very good.

It's nice to get back to my normal work schedule. We were all exhausted by the time Sunday finally ended and were grateful that the store is closed on Mondays. I'm pretty sure I slept all that day... And the next day... But yeah. It's good to get back to some normalcy. And I hear that congratulations are in order for you and Rachel! Seems like you two enjoyed a wonderful 6 month anniversary. ~Silver

Normalcy is always good.

And I…yeah. It was…it was just really good. Really…seriously good. I feel like if I say I’m happy I’ll jinx it. Haha

But it was wonderful, and we’re going to be going on vacation, soon, so things are just…really good, right now.

Yeah. Don't worry. Every day I've been having at least 8-10 water bottles plus a Gatorade spread through out the day. Though even then I did start to get a bit of a headache and stomach ache so then I would inside the building for an hour or so before heading back out. I'm just too stubborn to go inside without them forcing me to most of the time. But thank you for your concern, Quinn. Only one more day of the festival and then it's back to the normal routine. I can't wait. ~Silver

So how is it on the flip-side of the crazy, Silver, now that the festival’s done?

Sadly, I'm used to them bugging me, which is why I stay in my room whenever I'm at home. And yeah, any business is good. It's been a crazy week so far and luckily my aunt gave me today off since yesterday I was starting to really feel the heat that's going on in my part of the country. But we still have the festival till Sunday so more work to come! I'm sadly not all that accustomed to 11 hour shifts, but at least we get to eat and take breaks whenever we want... ~Silver

Yeah, breaks and food are good.

Be sure to stay well hydrated—seriously—make sure to drink plenty of water. A lot of people in this kind of heat aren’t even aware that they’re dehydrated; it’s a dangerous combination. Don’t make me be worried about you…it’s a doctoring habit.

Well, then I'll probably send you a link in a message later tonight after I get home from work, so basically 11+ hours. As for how I'm doing... Pretty good though stressed on two accounts. First being my parents and their annoying-ness... The other stress is more of a good stress. There is a festival going on in the town where the shop is basically right outside our doors. And so we have extended work hours this week and a lot more people coming in then we are used to, but yeah... ~Silver

Sorry your parents are being annoying.

And, well…any business is good business, right? Still, I’m sure that it’s stressful. Being busy is a two-sided sword.

I’m used to 11 hour shifts but…thinking about it always makes my stomach churn.
